Guth Gafa International Documentary Film Festival is looking for a Finance Director for their 7th annual Festival in Donegal in June 2012.
Guth Gafa is Ireland's only specialist Documentary Film Festival, taking place in Gortahork, County Donegal for 5 days in June, and has a strong human rights and social issues agenda.
OVer the last 6 years, Guth Gafa has been funded and supported by over 15 different state and semi-state agencies. The festival is attended annually by in excess of 2,000 people and has a strong reputation amongst filmmakers inside and outside of Ireland. The 2012 Festival is supported by a new international advisory committee consisting of representatives from HotDocs, POV, Tribeca and Sundance Institutes.
The ideal person for this post would need to have skills in budgeting large scale arts events, and planning and implementing a financing stategy with the Festival directors and our international advisory committee. They should have a proven track record and experience in raising funds through sponsorship and grant applications for Festivals and/or Arts events, preferably within the film and television industry, or other related arts-based activities.
The position will be commission-based remuneration only, based on a percentage of the total 2012 budget raised, and is subject to negotiation. The successful applicant for this post can be based anywhere in Ireland and does not need to relocate to Donegal, but must be available for regular meetings in Donegal and Dublin, and be willing to attend certain international festival events for advisory committee meetings.
The position will be full-time, although Guth Gafa may be in a position to consider more flexible working arrangements if the candidate has an exceptional track record in fund-raising, but the work must commence in September 2011. As we are based in the Donegal Gaeltacht and funded by various Irish funding agencies, fluency in Irish is also desirable, but not essential.
Please send a letter of application outlining relevant skills, and a cv by email or post to:
